BIOGRAPHY
Bree-Lynne Jennex is a multidisciplinary dance artist originally from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia in Canada with over 17 years of movement training. They bring a rich background in contemporary, floor-work, ballet jazz, and hip hop, with additional experience in acrobatics, modern, and musical theatre. Bree-Lynne’s dance journey began in competitive dance, where they spent nine years refining their skills and earning recognition for their dedication and technical ability. This period of competition helped shape their strong work ethic and drive for excellence, while also sparking a passion for continued growth and artistic exploration.
From a very young age, Bree-Lynne took their training seriously, constantly seeking out opportunities to learn and challenge themselves. In their late teens, they shifted focus towards growing their artistry and choreographic voice. They spent time at the Dance Arts Institute in Toronto, learning from industry professionals and further expanding their understanding of the dance world. Following this, Bree-Lynne pursued formal studies at the École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal, where they are currently enrolled in a professional training program, continuing to deepen their technique and artistic development.
Bree-Lynne has choreographed solos, duos, groups, and full-scale productions, and has collaborated on multiple projects with other choreographers. Their choreography is marked by a blend of precision and expressive freedom, with an emphasis on collaboration and storytelling.
Bree-Lynne has performed across a variety of stages and festivals, including the Lumière Arts Festival, Daniels Spectrum Toronto, and the Highland Arts Theatre, and has danced in concept films, music videos, and full-length stage productions. Since the age of 15, they have been performing in professional dance shows, using these experiences to grow as both a performer and a storyteller.
Recent credits include Roll the Bones (Concept film by Hazel Sparling), OVERLOAD (Lumière Arts Festival by Lesley Maclean), Altered State (Daniels Spectrum Theatre by Élodie Kyra), and Where Do We Go From Here? (Painted Dance Collective). Bree-Lynne is also a skilled choreographer and collaborator, often contributing to both the creative and performance aspects of their projects.
With a deep passion for creative exploration, Bree-Lynne blends technical precision with improvisational curiosity to create work rooted in collaboration, storytelling, and physical expression. They are passionate about fostering connection through movement and continually seek opportunities to expand their artistic voice.
